Common Questions

See some common questions and answers below, or call us at 07973 575 944
  • How soon after my symptoms start should I come for treatment?

The sooner treatment is started, the quicker your recovery will usually be.

  • Do I need to see my doctor before coming for treatment?

Patients may refer themselves for treatment, but GP and consultant referrals are also welcome.

  • Will treatment be covered by my private health insurance?

I am registered with all major health insurance companies such as BUPA, AXA PPP and Aviva etc. Please check with your insurance company to see whether you can claim and what procedures you need to follow. Authorisation usually needs to be given prior to treatment commencing.

  • When is your clinic open?

Appointments are available between the hours of:

    Monday to Friday  9am – 2pm

  • Is there parking?

There is free car parking available at the clinic.

  • How long is a treatment session?

Your initial appointment is usually 45 minutes long to allow for a full assessment and some treatment. Subsequent treatment sessions are usually 30 minutes in length.

  • How many treatments will I need?

The average number of treatments sessions is 4-6, but this will vary depending on your individual problem and also your response to treatment. A more specific estimate will be given to you following your initial assessment.

  • What do I need to wear?

Comfortable clothing, but please be aware that you may need to undress to your underwear depending on the location of your symptoms. For your modesty, it is useful to bring a pair of shorts to change into if I will be looking at your legs or lower back, and a vest top if I will be looking at your neck, shoulders or arms.

  • What will the treatment involve?

I will first ask you some questions about your symptoms and then look at your movements and carry out any specific tests related to your individual problem. Depending on your symptoms, treatment may involve manual (hands-on) therapy to the joints and muscles, electrotherapy treatment such as ultrasound, interferential therapy or heat treatment, and usually a home exercise programme for you to self-manage your symptoms in between treatment sessions.

  • How can I pay for treatment?

Payment should be made at the end of each treatment session and can be made by cash or cheque. I do not currently take payment by credit card. I can direct bill most major insurance companies if you provide me with your membership/policy number and authorisation code.

  • Is there disabled access?

Disabled access is available if prior notice is given.
